You wait ages for a decent windsurf session, then two come along at once. Typical.

Wasn't planning on going out today, but after yesterday had to go back to Hayling to buy the Quattro wave board off the guy, so took my kit along just in case there was wind. Got to the beach just before 2pm and yes there was! Not as much as yesterday though and more onshore, pancake flat water and wierdly no-one else out, apart from a couple of kiters getting ready on the beach. Decided on a 6m so unfortunately the Quattro had to stay in the car.

Got planing OK first run out but then the wind seemed to drop a bit and was mucho underpowered. Ended up drifting miles down the beach past the fairground rides. Came in there very miffed and not happy about the prospect of a 15-20 minute walk-of-shame back to the car park.

However as I was wondering what to do wind seemed to pick up. Released a bit of outhaul, went back out and yes was planing easily, and got back upwind very quickly. Someone was looking down on me nicely!

Wind was a solid F5 now. Had about half-an-hour of very well powered up blasting. Had to come in to put more downhaul and outhaul on the 6m. Gybing got better as I got warmed up and wind improved. Flat water though, not even any chop to speak of, so not the most interesting of sessions, but fully maxed out and absolutely flying at times which was fun. A couple of other windsurfers joined me later on so I wasn't all on my lonesome apart from the kiters.

After about 2 hours on the water wind appeared to be dropping off a bit. Was starting to get dark anyway so came in. All in all another solid session. Right back into the windsurfing now after 2 months off. Sod snowboarding, sod the cold water, get me out on my Quatro!!!
